Does iPhone support gps without internet connection?

If yes, what have been a little great accessible applications?
I mean, does it have a gps receiver which tells we where we are, even if we have been not continuous to a internet?

   There is no such a thing as GPS Without Internet becuase the GPS connect you to the Satelite Using internet offcourse.

   But there is Maps for Iphone. But people confuse it calling it Offline GPS.
